Tareq Touqan - Managing Partner

Tareq Touqan

Managing Partner

Attorney Tareq Zahi Touqan is a managing partner of Equity Legal Group and a practicing lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in Palestine and Jordan. He has extensive expertise in regulatory policy and administrative legal procedures in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates.

He specializes in corporate and administrative law and the drafting of legislation and regulatory frameworks, and has worked extensively with international organizations, government institutions, and private-sector partners on legal-reform initiatives. Mr. Touqan holds an LL.B. from the University of Jordan and an LL.M. from the University of London (UK).

Lubna Katbeh - Managing Partner

Lubna Katbeh

Managing Partner

Attorney Lubna Samir Katbeh is a managing partner of Equity Legal Group and a practicing lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in Palestine and the Arab region. She specializes in banking operations, financial and banking legislation, commercial contracts, and commercial arbitration and dispute resolution at both the local and international levels.

She served as the first Palestinian member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris (2012-2015 and 2019-2024) and was appointed by presidential decree as a member of the Electricity Sector Regulatory Council. She currently serves as a Commissioner at the Independent Commission for Human Rights. Ms. Katbeh holds a Postgraduate Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration and an LL.M. in Banking and Finance Law from Queen Mary University of London, as well as an LL.B. from the University of Jordan.

Ala' Eddin Touqan

Associate Attorney

Attorney Ala' Eddin Zahi Touqan is an associate attorney at Equity Legal Group with extensive experience in court procedures, legal research, litigation, contract drafting, and advisory work. He has provided legal advice to numerous local and international institutions and previously served as Senior Public Policy Advisor in the Office of the Palestinian Prime Minister.

He has participated in major legal-reform and development projects with USAID, GIZ, and other partners, and advises local companies, foreign investors, and individuals. Mr. Touqan holds an LL.M. in Business Law from the Washington College of Law (American University) and an LL.B. from the University of Jordan.

Ahmad Bitar

Associate Attorney

Attorney Ahmad Rajab Bitar brings over 18 years of legal experience in Palestine. His expertise includes litigation, contract drafting, legal pleadings, and advisory services to both local and international organizations.

He previously served as Senior Public Policy Advisor in the Office of the Palestinian Prime Minister and has worked as a legal and policy specialist on numerous national projects. He has been involved in major development initiatives with USAID, GIZ, the Ministry of Finance and Planning, and KfW, and has trained many young lawyers in litigation, legal drafting, and court procedures. Mr. Bitar holds an LL.B. in Law from Al-Quds University (Abu Dees).

Omar Awwad

Associate Attorney

Attorney Omar Muhannad Awwad has been practicing law since 2020. His areas of expertise include court procedures, land and settlement laws, commercial law, leasing and finance lease contracts, and legal research. He holds an LL.B. from Birzeit University.

Majd Alayasa

Associate Attorney

Attorney Majd Imad Alayasa has been practicing since 2018 and specializes in civil, commercial, and criminal law, as well as contract drafting, legal pleadings, and advisory services. She holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Law and Economics from Birzeit University and completed an academic exchange program at the University of Zurich. She has also completed specialized training in arbitration, Sharia law, and human rights. She is fluent in Arabic and English.

Shomoa Barghothi

Associate Attorney

Attorney Shomoa Shawkat Barghothi holds both a regular law license (2016) and a Sharia law practice license (2023). She has wide experience in civil law, land and execution laws, and the drafting of real-estate and judicial documents. She has completed advanced training in leadership, human rights, strategic litigation, legislative drafting, and women's and children's rights.

She previously worked as a legal researcher with several real-estate companies and the Land and Water Settlement Authority. She holds an LL.B. from Al-Quds University (Abu Dis) and an LL.M. from Birzeit University.

Saad Al Kayed

Contracting Lawyer

Attorney Saad Jamal Al Kayed worked for ten years with Equity Legal Group and currently assists the firm on a contractual basis, primarily handling cases in the northern West Bank. He has over 15 years of experience in Palestine, Jordan, and Kuwait, especially in corporate law, company registration, association registration, corporate documents, real-estate management, and legal advisory work.

He holds an LL.B. from the University of Applied Sciences (Amman) and a Legal Skills Diploma from Birzeit University.

Lama Farouq

Executive Management and Office Secretariat

Lama Farouq has served as Executive Administrator and Office Secretary at Equity Legal Group since 2010. She assists in preparing technical and financial proposals for donor-funded projects and manages all personnel affairs, accounting-system coordination, correspondence, archiving, scheduling, and communication with official and non-official entities.

She also oversees banking procedures and field-related administrative tasks. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computerized Information Systems Technology from Al-Quds Open University (Tulkarm).

Kamal Hijaz

Trainee Lawyer

Kamal Mohammad Hijaz completed his legal training at Equity Legal Group. He has strong experience in civil law, labor law, corporate law, land and execution laws, and contract drafting. He trained with the Market Discipline Department at the Palestine Monetary Authority in 2023 and holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Private Law from Birzeit University, including a semester scholarship at the University of Bergen in Norway.

Jenin Al Hantouli

Trainee Lawyer

Jenin Rabee Al Hantouli is a legal trainee at Equity Legal Group and holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Birzeit University. She possesses foundational experience in legal research, drafting legal memoranda and following up on legal procedures, in addition to strong analytical and legal writing skills in both Arabic and English. She has participated in numerous human rights-related projects and activities, contributing to research and documentation efforts that support legal and rights-based work in this field.

Bara'a Rajab

Bara'a Rafeat Ali Rajab is a legal trainee at Equity Legal Group and holds an LL.B. from Birzeit University (June 2025). She participated in developmental programs, including MUN, earning several certificates of recognition. She also completed internships with multiple law firms, gaining practical experience in professional legal environments.
